The managed security services sector is one of fastest growing segments of the IT/network industry. The escalating number of Internet viruses and other security risks threatening large, small and mid-sized enterprises are driving the rapid growth of this sector. Enterprises of every size are realizing that they are incapable of keeping pace with the technical requirements of securing their IT/network and business operations, and are seeking third-party alternatives to protect themselves. Managed security services are an attractive solution. The large telecommunications carriers are in a good position to supply managed security services because of their prominent position to satisfy the network security requirements of many enterprises. This is due to their established relationships with these organizations.
