Tom Pisello, Founder and CEO, Alinean
Tom Pisello has been helping companies get more business value from IT investments for 15 years. He is founder and CEO of Alinean, which specializes in software, methodologies and tools for evaluating, presenting and measuring the value of IT investments through the use of benchmarking and ROI analysis.
Tom created the first metric and worldwide database that captures the ROI of companywide IT investments in a single comparative figure, ROIT (TM), which gives CIOs and CFOs a competitive tool for evaluating new and existing IT initiatives.
Tom's ROI and TCO experience began in 1993 with Interpose, a company he founded to develop the first automated ROI and TCO analysis software for CIOs and IT vendors. Tom has also served as managing vice president of Gartner, which acquired Interpose in 1998, and formed the foundation for Gartner's measurement, ROI and TCO software solutions.
He holds several software patents and has spoken at COMDEX, Gartner Symposium, Gartner TCO Conference, Red Herring's Venture Market South and IDG's Directions 2004. He has written several books on ROI and TCO analysis, including his most recent book, IT Value Chain Management -- Maximizing the ROI from IT Investments. |
